Why Martha Stewart Doesn’t Use Bagged Tea – Exclusive –

Health concerns aside, loose-leaf tea has long been touted for superior flavor, and Martha Stewart comes from a line of women who know and appreciate quality tea. Stewart told us her mother worked in a tea store, where she got to try to taste different kinds of tea. This naturally spilled over into Stewart’s childhood. “We would taste all the different kinds of teas as I was growing up, and I found my favorite teas.” After a childhood trying different amazing teas, of course, Stewart wouldn’t be swayed by the perceived ease of bagged tea.

When Stewart wants a cup of tea, she knows exactly how she wants to make it. “I buy loose tea, and I use a nice stainless steel strainer or a little silver tea bowl to brew my tea.”
